well, first you have to decide what your thesis statement is verifying. if you are trying to talk about how he showed a theme through a certain character than you could say:
Ibsen exemplified his theme of faithfulness though Johnny and Sue because of their ability to be malleable in the eyes of the audience.
or if you are trying to tell how it is a timeless classic (even though i have never read it…) you could write:
Just as people read it back in the 1950’s , people are still indulging in this play by Henrik Ibsen.
I am sorry, I have never read the play so you should not take the facts from my statements, however, the structure is fine. perhaps you should mention what your paper is about. best of luck.
